Sandra J. Wrobel, MBA

Strategy Consultant – Life Sciences and Global Health

 Ms. Wrobel has 30-years experience as a strategy consultant to public and private companies and non-profit organizations. Ms. Wrobel was most recently chief executive officer, managing director, and co-founder of Applied Strategies, a 15-year old global health sector focused strategy consulting firm that was sold in 2015 to Strategic Decisions Group (SDG). Her visionary leadership helped establish Applied Strategies as an expert resource for product and portfolio investment strategies in the global health sector. She built the company's highly-regarded reputation in forecasting supply and demand for new health interventions, supporting innovative financing mechanisms, assessing the value and risk to suppliers and donors of global markets, and understanding the potential impact of new product introduction, both individually and across a portfolio of new products. 

 Following her first term at SDG, Ms. Wrobel held key leadership roles at IntraBiotics Pharmaceuticals (IBPI), a biopharmaceutical start-up specializing in the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. As CFO and Vice President of Business Operations, she developed corporate strategy, established methodologies for analyzing the risk and return of research and development investments, implemented project-based budgeting, and created or reengineered numerous line functions to enable ongoing and scalable company operations. 

Ms. Wrobel earned an M.B.A. from Stanford University with a concentration in the decision sciences. She holds a B.S. with highest honors in chemical and petroleum refining engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
