Dianne Forte, PhD

Dianne Forte has over 20 years of experience in international development, leading teams across 35 countries in Africa in implementing humanitarian assistance, health and economic development programs.  Focusing on building resilience in post-conflict communities, she has managed large USAID-funded livelihood and food security projects across the Sahel, peace building programs in countries such as Angola and DRC, and national health projects in countries such as Liberia. Forte has a body of work in the area of women’s empowerment and has designed and implemented research on the effects of migrant worker remittances on risk management and poverty reduction in sending countries.  She holds a Ph.D. in International Development from the University of Southern Mississippi, a M.A. in Political Economy and a B.A. in Economics both from Brooklyn College, City University of New York.
