Carole-Anne Baud obtained a master's in Law specializing in Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical Law from the University of Geneva. 

She is currently writing her PhD thesis on the topic of compassionate use of drugs in Switzerland. Her other research has focused on pharmaceutical law, notably on regulation of clinical trials, online purchase of pharmaceuticals, access to orphan drugs and reimbursement of drugs by basic health insurance in Switzerland.
